Our Events

We conducts a series of technical and non-technical events throughout the year consisting of all possible domains along with the techloop sessions which are organised on a weekly basis. We conduct these events for others to grow and for us to gain the opportunity to grow along as well. Few of the events we organise are:

Orientation 2019
IEEE-SB JUIT organised an orientation session for the upcoming buds on functioning of our student body. VICE Chancellor (Prof.) Dr. Vinod Kumar and the Faculty Coordinator of JUIT-SB Dr. Meenakshi Sood graced the occasion with their benign presence. The session was inaugurated with a introductory speech by Chairperson of IEEE JUIT-SB Saurabh Jain. The club’s motive to enhance a students’ technical domain and prepare them for the outer world competition was made comprehensible. He made the first-year students acquainted with the Council of IEEE JUIT-SB(2019-2020). The students were also addressed by VC Sir to give them a broader idea about IEEE and its notable contribution in the technical events of the college. To encourage active participation, Meenakshi ma’am also interacted with the new comers. After briefing about everything, interested students went through a small selection process for being part of this club. The interviews were taken by the student members of the club.
“A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.”
To live up to the hype, IEEE-SB JUIT kick started its new tenure by organising its first 2-day workshop of this tenure for the upcoming buds. The main motive of the workshop was to make students congenial to “C PROGRAMMING AND DATA STRUCTURES”. It inaugurated on 31st August,2019 and the enthusiastic involvement of students was discerned. Two mentors from CETPA hosted the event and helped out the students to gain clarity. 60+ students attended the workshop and were awarded certificates for active participation.
“Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand.”
IEEE-SB JUIT conducted daily sessions on different domains of IT, one of them being C programming. These sessions were introductory and interactive. The students were told about what C programming which include basic logics, how it executes and other basic syntax. The sessions were taken by Priyanshu (3rd year) for a strength of 40-50 students. The session was followed by doubt clearing hour, tests and activities making it much more interactive.
Cloud Computing
“If someone asks me what cloud computing is, I try not to get bogged down with definitions. I tell them that, simply put, cloud computing is a better way to run your business.”
When it comes to business IT, there is perhaps no more common topic of conversation than cloud computing; so to make the students familiar with this topic, IEEE-JUIT SB conducted a session on the basics of Cloud computing. The concepts and applications were explained and various doubts were cleared. It was taken by Karamjeet Verma and approximately about 40-50 students were present.
Graphic Designing
"I strive for two things in design: simplicity and clarity. Great design is born of those two things."
IEEE-SB JUIT conducted daily sessions on different domains of IT, one of them was Graphic designing. The sessions were informative and explained to the students what good designing is actually about. The tools used for designing were introduced such as Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw. The sessions were taken by Karamjeet Verma and the total strength of students was approximately 40-50. All in all the session helped students in learning better designing skills.
Internet Of Things
Internet of things "from connecting devices to human values"
IEEE Student body organised IOT sessions for the students .The session was hosted by Tarun Sharma and was attended by approximately 50 students. All the query and doubts were cleared by the mentors present. The session made the students realise the significance of IOT and its applications. Different practical based applications were also showcased using arduino. It was a very fruitful and constructive session as per the students who attended the sessions for IoT.
Web Designing
“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow”
The main motive of the session was to make students congenial to “Web Designing and Development”. The session was taken on 27th August 2019 and would be continued in the upcoming weeks on consecutive Tuesdays. Students were given an insight into the basics of Web Development and its industrial application. Over 50 students were present for the session. The students were extremely enthusiastic about the session and their participation clearly highlighted. The session was mentored by Saurabh Jain and Tarun Sharma
Coding Competition
A Coding Competition was conducted by IEEE-JUIT-SB which tested the knowledge and skills of the fresher’s on how good they can code. In keeping with its motive to provide a plethora of opportunities in the technical domain and expanding our reach we tried to find the brightest coding minds through the coding challenge and reward the best coders with lucrative prizes. The first prize was bagged by Kunwar pratap singh and the runner ups were Aman Tiwari and Piyushika Sachdeva.
While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focuses on what’s next. IEEE student branch of Jaypee University of Information Technology gathered to share their technical ideas on the occasion of international IEEE day on 30th september 2019. The IEEE members joined together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. In addition to an enjoyable time, the celebration consisted of various events such as webinar, quiz, project presentation, etc.
Jaypee University Of Information Technology hosted the 5th International Conference on Image Information Processing. This three day conference organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology inaugurated on 15 November ,2019 by Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Vinod Kumar,Director and Academic Head Prof.(Dr.) Sameer Dev Gupta , HOD CSE Department and Conferred Principal General Chair Prof(Dr) Satya Prakash Ghrera and General Chair Prof(Dr) Dr. P.K Gupta with the aim to serve for researchers, developers, educators working in the area of Imaging Science and Image Computing and their applications to present and future work as well as to exchange research ideas.
The three day long enticing conference came to an end with a memorable closing ceremony. The ceremony was graced by the benign presence of Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Vinod Kumar,Director and Academic Head Professor Dr Sameer Dev Gupta ,Registrar and Dean of students Major General Rakesh Bassi and HOD ECE department Professor Dr M.J. Progate’s Week of Learning program was organized from 23rd March, 2020 to 30th March, 2020. Around 90 participants were a part of this program. This program was organized and headed by Anubha Bhaik. Other organizing team members were Shachi Sharma ,Tarun Sharma , Saurabh Jain,Karamjit Verma and Arshdeep Singh. Progate is an online platform through which students can learn skills crucial for web development such HTML, css and javascript. These are the assets of web development which were quite easy to learn through Progate. Lessons are provided on coding that are best suited for absolute beginners who have little or no programming knowledge.
